Guest Facilities:
Themed around our old west town of “Chimney Rock”, the Ten Bits Ranch provides accommodations for up to ten guests. Each guest room is designed to be a part of our old west town so your vacation may include a stay in the Bank (two queen beds), Gunsmith (one queen bed), School house (one queen bed) or General Store (two double beds). All four guest rooms have plenty of space, a private bath, spacious covered porch and gas log fireplace. Our secluded location is perfect for those wishing to experience solitude and wide open spaces or for an exclusive gathering of friends or business associates. Groups booking the whole facility, may choose to have dinners at the ranch for an additional fee of $35 per person plus sales tax with at least two weeks notice prior to there stay. Here is a sample menu. We do not guarantee any of the menu items. Menu items are based on availability. Please keep in mind Ten Bits Ranch runs off of solar energy . Therefore, Air Conditioners are not available except in two rooms from May 15th through September 15th, only! Smoking is not permitted in any Ten Bits Ranch facility. We do not accept pets.
We also strives to maintain its unique identity as a remote, expedition outpost. Guest telephone service is only available via the house phone located in our cantina. Local calls are not charged however long distance calls require guests to have access to a phone calling card. TV service is not available at the ranch, however wireless internet access is available for those with a laptop computer. Our guest rooms do not have hair dryers, refrigerators, coffee makers, phones, or TVs in them.
Please understand that we are an off-the-grid facility. As a result, we have limitations regarding the use of power and water. What this means is that we need to conserve these resources in order to have running pumps, flushing toilets and lights to read by. Daily laundry and maid service results in an excessive use of our available resources.
Along the same lines, we also encourage the re-use of towels, cups, soaps etc. as it helps us maintain resources not only for your use but also as a way to promote environmental sustainability. Because of this policy, we normally do not make up rooms every day.
Breakfast and Evening Meals:
The Ten Bits Ranch offers an continental breakfast daily, which include muffins, fresh fruit, pastries, bagels, cereal, and a host of other goodies to get you started. Beverages include coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and orange juice. For meals we recommend the Chile Pepper Cafe, Ghost Town Cafe, Long Draw Pizza, Roadrunner Deli, Phat Cafe, Starlight Theatre, and Tivo's Mexican food. Extras:
For special occasions, the Ranch offers in room Gift Baskets from $25, $45, and $65 per basket and cakes from $15, $25 and $35. Cakes vary on the number of people served and complexity of the cake. The gift baskets vary on price. A $25 gift basket would consist of a bottle of wine or sparkling grape juice and some fruit. A $45 gift basket would consist of a bottle of wine or sparkling grape juice, fruit, chocolates and cookies. A $65 gift basket would have a bottle of wine or sparkling grape juice, fruit, chocolates, cookies, cheese and crackers, and summer sausage. Guest can request other basket and cakes or other specialty items, depending on availability and time we will try to met your needs. Prices will vary upon request. Advance notice must be given and tax is not included in the above prices.
Access:
The Ten Bits Ranch property is accessible exclusively to our guests on a 24hr. basis. Furthermore, our café building "the Cantina" is also open as a comfortable, common area for guests to relax 8 am to 10 pm. Friends and acquaintances of our guests are welcome to visit however all accommodations and meals at the Ten Bits Ranch are restricted to our guest patrons as part of our commitment to their satisfaction. The Ten Bits Ranch is also a handicapped accessible facility.
The Ten Bits Ranch is located 2.3 miles down North County Road. Although unpaved, it is a regularly maintained public road and is accessible by typical commercial automobiles. After heavy rains, this road can become impassible for a number of hours to vehicles without four wheel drive. We will make every effort to assists guests who experience travel difficulties due to of foul weather however please take this into account when making your Big Bend travel arrangements!
